cardio-RESPIRATORY endurance
Five test protocols for cr fitness
aerobic and anaerobic exercise
aerobic exercises require oxygen to produce the necessary energy (atp) to do the activity while anaerobic exercises require less to no oxygen to produce the necessary energy (atp) to do the activity.
examples of aerobic activity include: biking, cycling, jogging, running, swimming, walking at a fast pace, boxing, basket ball, soccer, and dancing . where as anaerobic activities include: heavy weight lifting, squats, swim sprints, curls, and pull ups. |

benefits of aerobic exercising
- a higher maximal oxygen uptake (vo2 max)
- increase in the oxygen- carrying capacity of the blood
- decrease in resting heart rate and in crease in cardiac muscle strength
- lower heart rate at given work loads
- increase in the number, size, and capacity of mitochondria
- increase in the number of capillaries
- ability to recover rapidly
- lower blood pressure and blood lipid levels
- increase in fat burning enzymes
